RECENT CALLS:


JUNE 21ST: Around 11:30, Garden City Fire Company (65) and South Media Fire Company (51) were dispatched to 7 Waterville Rd. for a leaf fire. Nether Providence police arrived on location and requested that only one Engine was needed. 65-1 responded to the scene. Upon arrival 65-1 confirmed a small leaf fire as a result of a controlled burn. 65-1 was made available on scene and was back in the station no more than fifteen-minutes after the initial dispatch.

JUNE 17TH: Around 1:00 am Garden City Fire Company (65) and South Media Fire Companies (51) were dispatched to 727 Windsor Place for a Fire Alarm. 65-9B responded directly to the scene in Command Unit 65. Upon arrival 65-9B along with Nether Providence police searched the outside of the home only to find that the residents were not there. Engine 65-1 under the command of 65-12 arrived shortly after. The crew from 65-1 surveyed the outside of the premises. An audible alarm could be heard inside the residence. 65-1's crew could see no visible smoke from the outside. Entrance to the house was gained shortly after. 65-9B determined the alarm to be faulty and held with Engine 65-1. 65-1's crew remained on location briefly and the Engine was placed available fifteen minutes later. Engine 65-1 was out no more than 45 minutes when returned to the station. Other units responding to the call were Ladder 65 (65-5), Engine 51 (51-1), Engine 51 (51-2) and Rescue 51 (51-6)

JUNE 17TH: At approximately 22:30 hrs (10:30 pm) the Garden City Fire Company (65) was dispatched to the area of Austin and Pennsylvania Ave. for a report of wires down. 65-9 went responding directly to the scene in Command Unit 65. Shortly after, Engine 65-1 went responding under the command of 65-12. Command Unit 65 went on location and 65-9 advised that he did have a wire lying low to the ground. Engine 65-1 arrived on location seconds later and assisted with lighting to determine what might have caused the wire to drop significantly. 65-9 notified fireboard that he had a low wire and that PECO was needed. 65-9 held with Engine 65-1 for lighting. It was determined that a branch was the cause of the fallen wire. After fireboard notified 65-9 that PECO had been notified, 65-9 made went available and returned the company. The crews were on scene no more than twenty minutes.
